What do we do to cattle and horse thieves nowadays, according to active state laws?

In CA and NV, that is treated as any other theft, according to the dollar value of the animals. A misdemeanor if less than 900-1000 bucks, a felony if more. No more lynchings or horse whippings for stealing livestock. 2/5/25
