  • Not too much. When I was a kid on the rez, we always had different types of protestants coming to evangelize us. They didn't like that many of us were Catholic. They didn't seem to know that we had been colonized by Spain/Mexico about 300 years before the Americans got here. It was always entertaining when the Mormons and the Jehovah witnesses came at the same time. We had them all come to convert us over the years, so we heard alot about their different missions. Other than that, I have never really looked into the eastern philosophies very much. Just a shallow knowledge of their beliefs. 1/23/25
  • 1/23/2025, I grew up as a Catholic believing in crucifixions, idols and images, thinking they were sacred, and powerful to scare away evil spirits. It turned out I was developing a superstitious belief. Then I joined the Pentecostal denomination, followed by the Seventh-Day Adventists. I then believed the Bible is the Word of God by the biblical teachings these two Christian denominations preach. John 17:17 "Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth." Reading and studying the Bible, I came to understand that our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Whereby, God can be worshipped in any place, building and especially from within. I left the Pentecostals and Adventists for the obvious reasons of: all denominations have different religious teachings. Ephesians 4:14 says to not be children tossed back and forth by every doctrine. I'm a Non-denominational Christian. Therefore, I don't need a denomination or a pastor to interpret the Bible - when the Comforter who is a Counselor, Encourager and Helper is there. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 "Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual."
