Yes, The Elephant Man was a phenomenally well made movie, but certainly very depressing! The more modern version ofThe Mist was also super depressing, as was One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. But, for me, Come and See was the most well made most depressing movie. Watch at your own risk!

I don’t like to feel bad so I think it’s best to give it a skip. I read about it on Google and as soon as I read it’s a war movie, I said to myself not a chance will I watch that.

I tend to cry at war movies, last one I saw was Hacksaw Ridge, based on true story, was really good though. Non war films "Inside I'm Dancing," and "Into The Wild"(latter also based on true story, good but haunted me). Most depressing was "Remember Me."

The House of Sand and Fog still holds up for me as one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen.
