  • Come stay with me, I will entertain you
  • Go to Gatton. A nice small town.
  • I did say Sydney, but an Aussie AB'er said it's a horrible place to visit: https://www.answerbag.com/q_view/3513889 Try Melbourne. It is supposed to be Australia's mecca for all things trendy and tasty. 😄

Melbourne is full of jippos . Whats to see in Melbourne ? If your into overpaying for shit on toast less the bread Melbourne is the place to go just another soulless city I did live there once.. Unfortunately Im going there today.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
I'm going by what the Google reviews say about the Australian cities I mentioned. I would rather visit a well-known city in Australia than to visit some place many people have not heard of.
    • ★Stevo
you have noticed all the bad reviews on google get deleted. What do you want to see on Holiday just another city not much different to any other city? Tram rides are nothing to write home about.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
Melbourne is similar to the San Francisco Bay. So Australia's mecca has to be a popular tourist attraction for some reason.
  • Id goto Far North Queeensland Cairns or Port Douglas otherwise Seventeen Seventy is a nice town I want to return to.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
Whoa! Far North Queensland Cairns is filled with venomous snakes like the Eastern Brown Snake and Taipan.
    • ★Stevo
Have you ever seen any of them there? How can you say that as you have never been there?
    • ★Stevo
Melbourne is filled with theives & drug addicts victoria has no shortage of snakes, its hot and dry currently they are out.
    • ★Stevo
plenty of snakes in Victoria I got this one out of the kitchen last year. https://streamable.com/lzc6w4, Melbourne is about 2 hours from here
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
I can say this cause I have seen Google images. I understand Melbourne is filled with thieves and drug addicts. But you have to understand that just like any other big city in the world, you will also see the good and bad in people.
    • ★Stevo
You are correct in respect of theres scumbags everywhere and you wont see many in the good parts of Melbourne, but whats to see that you cant see anywhere in the world? The food and restaurants are pretty much the same everywhere in the country? You dont want to be lining up while on holidays.
    • ★Stevo
unless you are a mad gambler as in must goto horse races casinos and pokies you might like Melbourne . Maybe the night clubs if you like party drugs or drinking untill day light. But why come to Australia to do that you you do that in at home Id asume.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
No alcohol or drugs for me. What is there to see in Melbourne: the beautiful buildings, museums, parks, bridges, ponds, markets, etc - and the *bragging rights* to say that a person has visited the capital of Victoria. :D
    • ★Stevo
Canberra is the capital city of Australia . Every city has buildings and museums.
    • ★Stevo
Out of curiosity can you name a famous building in Melbourne that you want to visit? The US would have better glass high rise building their nothing to write home about.
    • ★Stevo
dont you like extreme sports like para sailing ,water skiing , bungie jumping ect none of them are in Melbourne. The yarra river is filthy I wouldn't swim in it the water at Melbourne beechs is cold
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
I don't know much of Canberra. It must be a small, crappy city with a low population. So since Canberra doesn't ring my bell, you know what, cranberries are more important to me. LOL
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
BTW, since Canberra is the capital of Australia, actually, Melbourne was the capital of Australia from 1901 to 1927.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
Yes, every city has buildings and museums, but Melbourne is somewhat similar to San Francisco. And The Bay City has a storied history that is built into every attraction you see. Name a famous building in Melbourne? Easy, the Australia 108. It cannot go unnoticed, that's for sure.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
Bungee jumping? You are an adrenaline junkie, not to mention the freshwater and saltwater crocodiles in Cairns.
    • ★Stevo
if your into the theory they change the people every 300 years some of the old stone buildings might interest you we have very few stone masions that even know how to work on the old buildings, The last 2 generaertions have built Grollo Glass Highrises. Ive never got out of the car in Canberra only politicans there most of the time. . I didn't get eaten by a croc when I was swiming at the beach in Cairns or Port Douglas in the dry season or see any crocs.. Too many cooling towers breeding Legionella in Melbourne. More chance of being robbed or run over in Melbourne than seeing a croc in cairns unless you go looking for crocs of course then they best viewed from the 4wd or large boat.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
Houses in Melbourne are nice too. They are very similar to American homes. Even the cheap houses are not so bad. The thing about visiting Australian cities near rainforests, if people do not get assaulted, they are bound to be bitten by poisonous snakes or eaten by large pythons: https://youtu.be/HY6eNtQD7cE?si=EGxyu6BhaM86pCli And I thought the movie Anaconda (1997) based on the Amazon jungle was exaggerating. Cairns does also have big snakes. As for crocodiles in Cairns, they are more frightening than American alligators. You keep saying people will get robbed in Melbourne. More people get robbed in New York City. That's not a good reason to say, "Don't go there."
    • ★Stevo
i did live in Cairns for a while , why do you think most native wildlife is protected? We've all ready killed majourity of it at the rate we are destroying native habitat there wont be any left soon enough. Snakes wont come near you they will hide before you see them usually. Some people are extremly unlucky and step on them. probably more chance of being robbed in New York than being biten by a snake.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
Protected or not, wild animals will not protect you, unless you're Mowgli from The Jungle Book.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
I agree that snakes are timid, as well as the majority are killed. Nobody ever knows the exact number of snakes in Cairns, and it is best for tourists not to find out.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
More chances of being robbed in New York than being bitten by a snake? That's because mankind is the ultimate predator.
