Is it illegal to give people food when youre getting foodstamps?
I get more foodstamps than I need, Im a short person and just cant eat almost $200 worth of food, so sometimes when it accumulates, i live in an apartment building i will go bring a bunch of it downstairs and leave it for my neighbors to grab, one of my neighbors mentioned it was illegal for me to do that. i just cant eat that much. so am i doing something wrong? if i tell food stamps im getting too much they might cut me off altogether so whats a good alternative to getting rid of extra food without getting in trouble? i dont sell foodstamps or the food. any suggestions?

You should just leave them on the card. But do spend some or they will stop them. I was saving up for a birthday party and they stopped them. It was only about 15. a month anyway.

Pearl , I've never heard that it's illegal to give someone food , when you purchase food with your own foodstamps , My opinion is just stop giving food to someone who looks like a trouble maker , the neighbor lady gets lot foodstamps she buys us food , the lady who my cousin gives ride to buys her food with her foodstamps , I was even told you can't use someone else's foodstamp card to purchase food and we live in the same household well the store allows it to go through , None of my business just beware of the trouble makers where you
