For me I just let it grow back out on it's own - and maybe trim it more than normal

You have to pre-pigment the colour before adding a darker shade, you can do this using a colour mousse, just make sure it's the same colour as the tint itself. by failing to pre-pigment the hair, the tint will eventually wash out, permanent or not. So basically.. Buy a medium brown colour mousse along with a medium brown tint. Wash hair and towel dry, then apply the colour mousse making sure you cover all of the bleached hair, then finger dry until the hair is damp. Then apply the colour starting from the ends, after the colour is applied, comb through making sure all of the bleached hair is completely covered. Leave colour in for the recommended time, then rinse colour off and appy two lots of shampoo. After shampooing, use a good conditioner (i personally prefer Aussie Miracle Moist) work it through the hair and leave on for 15 mins.. Then rinse. Your hair will be well coloured and in great condition!!!

at, home im not 100% sure, first DO NOT go an ASH BROWN u'll just end up with greenishgold hair. but I know that first u would need to go red to put the red tones back in, then go a brown, also u'll need to keep up with keeping ur hair brown and not to fade. I too am trying to get my bleached?yellow, hair brown, but fading IS a BIG problem.u should just let it go back but if u must, go to http://www.blonde-ambition.co.uk/backtobrown.shtml

Coloring over bleach is very tricky. You will more than likely end up with dark spots and off color. If you really want to do it yourself you will have to use a color filler first. Even with the filler the more damaged ends will still grab off color. It's best trim any damage off before coloring bleached hair. You really should have a pro do it for you.

you HAVE to dye your hair with a permanent red dye first. Then while still damp apply a brown permanent dye closest to your original natural brown colour. you will need to condition, condition and more condition until all that dye has eventually grown out but it DOES work! Never apply brown straight onto bleached blonde hair or you will get anything ranging from orang to green to shades of blue! good luck x
